Life is not meant to be carefully planned and executed. If you think it is, I’m sorry you will be disappointed for sure. Having said that, making a bucket list of what to do with your life is something people do to keep track of their dreams and how far they have come in life. Needless to say, a strikethrough on one of the elements in the list indeed gives us immense pleasure because one more dream has been fulfilled.

Here, I’ve made a bucket list of 25 things you can do before you turn 25. This is just my version and I’m sure people may have different ideas. Also these are not only for the young adults like me. Even if you are 30 or 40 or even middle aged, you can try to do some or all of the below ideas and even more.

Also, this is not a must-do list. If you are over the age of 25 and haven’t done all 25 of the below things, that doesn’t mean that you are a failure. Of course not. In fact consider yourself extremely lucky and be grateful if you have done at least 10 items on the list.

  1. Visit another Indian state

India is a diverse country and each of the 29 states has its own unique culture. Why not explore one of them?

  1. Travel abroad

When I say abroad, I don’t necessarily mean fancy places like Paris, Budapest, Prague, etc. Even a trip to Nepal or Sri Lanka can be worth remembering.

  1. Fall in love

Fall in love. Seriously.

  1. Pursue a professional degree in something you love

If you are passionate about something and would like to pursue a career in that, why not sign up for a professional degree in the same?

  1. Learn something totally new and master it

If you have enough time, learn something you have always wanted to try. And if you go the extra step of mastering it, I guarantee you, the self confidence you will be getting is huge.

  1. Pursue your true passion or save up money to do it later

Ever wanted to become a writer or an artist or something similar? Take it up now, or save up enough money first so that you will be financially stable.

  1. Get a driving license

Sounds pretty cliché, I know.

  1. Do an adventurous sport

Adventure has a way of unleashing the brave soldier in us. Try bungee jumping or paragliding or any other adventurous sport and you will realize this for sure.

  1. Run a half marathon

Let me warn you. Running a marathon (or a half one) is not a child’s play. You can’t just go on a marathon out of the blue. It needs the right amount of training and fitness.

  1. Go on a trekking trip

Trekking can be great fun especially with your friends or family.

  1. Learn zumba/ aerobics

Push ups and squats may be pretty boring for many. Why not sign up for a zumba class?

  1. Learn to cook at least 25 dishes

Learning to cook is not uncool at all. You need food to survive, don’t you?

  1. Spend at least one hour per day yourselves

You need to take care of yourself. Even if it is just for an hour.

  1. Read at least 100 books

I don’t know how many of you will agree with me on this one, but I always think that a person who is not well read has something lacking in him/her.

  1. Travel alone somewhere

My parents will probably just freak out if they see this one. But yeah, travelling alone will always be in my bucket list.

  1. Learn a new Indian language

Hindi. Duh.

  1. Learn a new foreign language

I have always thought French to be one hell of a romantic language. But that’s just me. You may have a different choice.

  1. Attend a rock band concert

If you are not into rock music, pop or jazz will do.

  1. Visit at least one of the 7 wonders of the world

Now, this is a must-do.

  1. Watch at least 5 classic movies

Classic movies have something about them that refuses to fade with time. Some great choices are Casablanca, Gone With the Wind, Godfather and Sholay (if you are into Hindi films).

  1. Go on a road trip

  1. Buy yourself something very expensive(treat yourself)

That Louis Vuitton bag you have been wanting to buy for so long. Just buy it!!!

  1. Plan a 30 days challenge and complete it

And by 30 days I mean 30  consecutive days. Not as easy as you think.

  1. Focus on becoming a better person

Be a better human, better child, better partner, more religious, kinder. Strive to be better.

  1. Take a moment to congratulate yourself

Hey!!! If you are 25, you have successfully completed two and a half decades on this earth. Pat your own back!!!

A happy-go-lucky 20 y/o girl with a curious mind and a thoughtful soul. Being a dreamer for my whole life, I believe that nothing is impossible to achieve as long as what we dream is good for us as well as others. Writing is my recently discovered passion and I hope to use this blog to help people achieve their dreams and make the world a better place to live.
